The intent of the WRAP BUSTER™ is to ensure the wrap is removed without injuring the cow. The knife is sharp only where it is needed. It is also intended to keep the person from being kicked by being a safe distance from the cow’s leg during the removal process.
Both models of WRAP BUSTER™ function the same. The long handle does have an additional grip a third of the distance up the handle for a secure, two-handed use.
- The thin tip of the cutting knife is to be gently slipped along the flat side of the cow’s leg on either the inside or outside of the leg.
- Slip the knife down the leg into the wrap, realizing the rounded tip is not sharp and will not injure the cow.
- Once in position, a swift pull on the WRAP BUSTER™ back toward the operator will slice the wrap. Due to wrap application, it may be necessary to slice the other side of the wrap to ensure it will fall off within a few steps of the cow.
Maintenance:
The WRAP BUSTER’s “Gone Before They Know It !” performance will need some periodic maintenance.
The Blade is made of hardened stainless steel, so a few strokes on each side of the blade with a sharpening steel will be enough to maintain a sharp cutting edge. On those blades that have seen more abuse, a flapper wheel on an angle grinder may be faster to restore the edge.
Occasional tightening of the stainless steel bolts may also be required.
